Does The Doctor Need To Know If I Am Having Panic Attacks?

I am attempt suicide a couple of months ago ( yes I know not smart). I am being treated for what they are calling depression via meds and therapy. Although I have not harmed myself since then, I have noticed that I am know starting to get frequent panic attacks, are these related? Does the doctor need to know this?
